Małgorzata Walewska – a world-famous opera diva (mezzo-soprano); she graduated from the Warsaw Music Academy. She has been working with the Grand Theatre in Warsaw since 1991.
The artist has given guest performances in Berlin, Bremen, Essen, Geneva, Rome, Santa Cruz and Florida. In 1996-98 she was hired by the Vienna Staatsooper and started working with Semperoper in Dresden in 1999. She performed with Placido Domingo and Luciano Pavarotti. She also performs in oratorios singing Bach, Beethoven and Mahler. One of the many high points in her career was the title role in Bizet’s ‘Carmen’ at the Musical Theatre in Gliwice for which she was awarded the Gold Mask in Performance of the Year category.
